Types of Countertops:



Formica laminate is a brand of composite materials. Formica is a hard durable plastic laminate used for countertops, cupboard doors, and other surfaces.


Granite is a visibly granular rock; hard stone; ideal for countertops; in colors from near-white, and a spectrum of golds, pinks, greens, blues, grays and blacks.


Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed principally of some combination of the two minerals calcite and dolomite. Limestone is generally softer and less dense than granite.


Marble is a metamorphic rock possessing a distinctive crystalline texture. Marbles are typically softer than granite, and are available in a wide spectrum of color and veining.


Quartz is a silicon dioxide mineral that occurs in colored or colorless and transparent crystals or crystalline masses. One of the hardest minerals in granite and quartzite.


Quartzite is a hard member of the sandstone group, looks similar to slate, but is harder/denser. Pure quartzite is often white to grey, some are various shades of pink/ red.


Slate is a micro crystalline rock commonly derived from shale. Slate is primarily composed of mica, chlorite and quartz. Slates are predominantly available in cleft-finished tiles.
